She packed her suitcase,
And walked out the door,
"I can't take this,
I don't want to live here anymore!"
Her dad was always drunk,
And her mom was always high,
The 16 year old girl often wanted to die.
She traveled down the road,
Her suitcase dragging on the ground,
She must find a place where she'll never be found.
She was crossing a schoolyard,
She stepped off of the curb,
The drunk driver cussed and swerved.
It was at that moment she realized she didn't want to die yet,
She was only a kid,
She was seeking love,
There was so much to do with such little time.
But the car didn't turn in time,
They hit the girl,
She instantly died.
Now at her funeral,
She watches from heaven,
There's a little girl crying,
She's only seven.
A tear fell down from that angel cheek,
Remembering her sister,
Her words, so weak.
The little girl looked at the sky,
Wondering why,
Then a soft angel voice echoed in her head,
And at the very moment she thought her sister wasn't dead.
"Baby don't cry,
I'm all right,
I'm in heaven,
God will take care of me,
And you'll get a new mommy and daddy."
For her sister hadn't learned yet,
That their parents were out,
Their father was drunk,
And his patience ran out.
He was screaming at their mother,
With a drunken rage,
He didn't see the girl,
Crossing the road in the rain.
For when he did,
He swerved real fast,
But it was to late,
The moments didn't last.
The car flipped as it went off the road,
And mommy and daddy were dead,
Before their seven year old daughter was even home.
